Nampak Spends £4m On Kit
2009-11-04

Nampak spends £4m on kit at former Storey Evans site

Pharmaceutical and healthcare packaging company Nampak Healthcare has invested in new machines and created 30 new jobs in the former Storey Evans facility it acquired last year.

The manufacturer has spent over £4m on a new Komori S40 press and a Heidelberg Diana Pro gluing machine for the Bradford plant. A spokeswoman said that compatibility and efficiency were the key elements in choosing the new kit.

The Komori has capacity of around 15,000 sheets an hour in six colours, with coating and full UV specification options.

Nampak Group bought the company at the end of last year. Since then, it has seen profits rise from £14m to £19m.

Gerard Harford, Nampak Healthcare Regional Director UK, said becoming part of the global Nampak Group had brought the business a number of significant benefits.

"We have acquired extra business - now over £19m sales with major blue chip pharmaceutical customers - which has enabled us to create 30 new roles and give greater security to existing jobs," he said.

The firm has recently rebranded the former MY Healthcare business in line with the firm's corporate identity.

The Bradford facility is now the largest in Nampak's Healthcare division, employing 210 people.
