2008-12-01
South Korea is determined to become one of the three giants among RFID(Radio Frequency Identification) tags industry and other related sensor network systems in the world. The project plans to be accomplished by 2017. The scheme requires the government to pour in 480 billion won (about US$475.7 million)to invest in research and development. And some basic demand for greater application of RFIDs and ubiquitous sensor networks will also be met so that the implementation will easily be completed.

According to the Ministry of Knowledge Economy, in the next 4 to 5 years more than 650 billion will be input to purchase some equipment, facilities and do some researches. It could just be possible to be keen enough in the competitiveness and convenience for both manufacturers and consumers in the RFID-USN systems.

A little bit more information:RFID tags use radio waves to quickly provide the location, content and condition of shipments, products and facilities, while the USN collects the information and sends it to a centralized network that can compile the data to inform users.
