Rising Costs Cast Away 11,000 Packaging Jobs around Europe
2008-12-01
According to an industrial research firm in Europe, Plimsoll, more than 11,000 packaging jobs in the materials section in the following year have been possibly at the risk.
The survey found that about 750 firms have to cut down the number of employees in the next year and more than 250 companies were on the brink of loss. Roughly 20% of the analyzed firms need to take proactive actions to hold on the business, 350 organizations, however, need to take other paths along the competitive industry.
More cruel fact was that 45% of firms were in good operation and could be positively prosperous if they annexed or trumped other smaller businesses.
David Pattison, senior analyst at Plimsoll, said "While job losses are undoubtedly bad news for any company, such decisive action may be called for to guarantee the survival of the business – even if this means it is 30% or 50% smaller than it was."
It is evidently apparent that packaging entities need to be alerting, challenging and perspective among the tough ages if you still want to survive in the long run.
