Following the report of British Chambers of Commerce (BCC) on economy recession, BCC has been blamed of talking about recession in the packaging industry, according to chief executive Dick Searle from Packaging Federation.
Undoubtedly, the field was encountering pressures from prices and costs. But the way of saying the industry was in the downtime was “profoundly unhelpful to the economy". It would dramatically influence consumers’ mindsets and the public would also be affected by what they get from the media.
Since the early 1990s, the research from BBC has found that nearly 5,000 firms has had lower rate of employment of domestic sales and orders. And it was also surveyed that manufacturing was fairly nicer than service field.
However, Searle said the packaging industry could well hold on to go through the economic depression because foods and drinking are still necessities on our daily basis. “And people are likely to purchase more processed products as the time becomes tougher.” said Searle.
