American Packaging plans expansion

 

Flexible-packaging printing and converting firm okays $16.5 million in improvements at its flexographic printing and laminating division in Story City, IA.

The move is one of several major expansions in recent years, which include a $12 million project at its Rochester plant and a $13 million expansion at its facility in Columbus, WI.

 

The company says it has invested over $150 million in equipment and facilities upgrades over the last 10 years. "We are committed to expand and grow our business through strategic investment in our facilities, obtaining the latest technology and most importantly attracting and retaining the best people in the industry," says president and CEO Peter Schottland.

 

The company was recently named a Best Workplace in America by the Printing Industries of America. The ISO 9001:2008 certified company specializes in the manufacture of flexible packaging laminations for a variety of specialty markets. It is holds a STAR designation from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration for all three of its facilities.
