Alcan Packaging is going to establish a new flexible packaging plant in the Czech Republic in the wave of a rapidly-growing food market in Central Europe.
Based on perspectives from the global packaging group, the plant is expected to claim €17m (£13.5m) in Novy Bydzov. And it will be available at the end of 2009 and at the first place the company will merely hire 100 employees.
Alcan Packaging Food Europe, a department of Alcan Packaging manufacturing flexible packaging for food and beverages, made a sales report that the company rolled the incomes of $2.3bn (£1.2bn) in 2007. It runs 31 plants in 18 countries and recruits more than 7,000 people.
According to the president Michael Cronin from Alcan Packaging Food Europe, the main reason to set up a new plant is to keep up with the growing food markets in the Czech Republic and the company needs to provide better service and offer reliable, innovative and high quality packaging elements and components.
