Durham Box’s packaging for Charlie & Ivy’s oozes style
2018-12-11

From: Packaging News

Durham Box recently worked with Yorkshire-based lifestyle brand, Charlie & Ivy’s, to develop new packs for its dipping oils, salad dressings and mayonnaise.

Founded by a farming family with a passion for great flavour – ‘great flavour and proper posh fare with a smidgen of what makes Britain great’ – Charlie & Ivy’s was launched at the Farm Shop & Deli Show in 2017 exhibiting a product range of rapeseed oil based gourmet dipping oils, dressings and mayonnaise, primarily designed for home entertaining.

In creating the pack, the corrugated packaging manufacturer worked to a tight timescale to a meet a deadline for the recent Country Living Magazine Fair in London on 7 November, where the products were due to be showcased.

The boxes, each containing three-bottled products, were initially produced in a white E flute board. To reflect brand values, the founders preferred a simple, rustic brown finish, which Durham Box achieved by making the boxes up inside out. By retaining the white board inside the boxes, Durham Box was able to print a wallpaper design to the inner faces to create a simple yet stylish effect. The box lids were flexo-printed inline with Charlie & Ivy’s brand style and were shipped to London in preparation for the Fair.

Charlie & Ivy’s co-founder and director, Jennie Palmer, said: “Working in a collaborative partnership with Durham Box is a great experience and nothing is too much trouble. The boxes look amazing, and to get them in time for Country Living in London was just fantastic!”

Based in Bishop Auckland, Co Durham, Durham Box service a broad segment of the corrugated packaging market. The firm’s capacity and operational ability enables them to deliver their expertise in an intelligent way, providing their customers with first class packaging solutions and services.
