Videojet's Printing Ribbon Is Ready for Rough Packaging Materials
2018-05-10

From: Packaging Strategies

Videojet Technologies (videojet.com) introduces a new rough texture black ribbon compatible with Videojet DataFlex and Videojet 6200 series of thermal transfer overprinter (TTO) products. The ribbon features excellent adhesion and contrast when printing on rough surfaces such as Tyvek, uncoated labels, paper tickets, Kraft paper and hang tags.

The new rough texture ribbon provides sharp print quality at high speeds, along with resistance to smudging and abrasion for code readability, says the company. It is formulated for superior light resistance, helping it to withstand environments where high light levels can fade prints produced with other ribbons. The ribbon features advanced backcoat technology to help ensure excellent print quality and extended printhead life.

Videojet rough texture ribbon can be used to print logos, text, real-time dates and codes, including 2D Data Matrix and GS1-128 bar codes, directly on packaging materials. The ribbon comes in standard 55mm wide by 1000 meters long to help increase productivity through longer run times and fewer ribbon changes compared to shorter ribbons. Additional ribbon widths are available.

"Videojet works with manufacturers to identify new, growing and challenging applications that require unique solutions,” said Sherry Washburn, business unit manager, supplies at Videojet. “This ribbon is tailored to meet a growing need in the packaged foods, pharmaceuticals and medical device industries. ”
