Saica Pack wins Nestlé sustainability award
2017-04-24

From:Packaging News

Saica Pack has won the Nestlé award for Most Sustainable Supplier.

The award involved Nestlé’s suppliers demonstrating sustainable thinking and practices in their operations and supply chains.

Saica was judged to have provided environmental, social and economic benefits in its packaging production for Nestlé’s diverse range of products.

The Spanish paper giant has been working with Nestlé to achieve its 2020 strategic sustainability target of sending zero waste to landfill from all sites across Europe.
This was largely due to Saica’s closed loop cycle, which helps to reduce the environmental impact of waste and increase sustainability.

All recyclable waste is collected and treated at Saica Natur and then reused by Saica Paper and Saica Pack.

A Nestlé spokesperson said: “Saica Pack impressed the judges with the way they have managed to embed sustainability throughout their operation, working in close collaboration with Nestle to integrate a sustainable closed loop packaging supply chain. The judges also appreciated the time and effort that went into a very innovative award submission.”
David Wilbraham, sales, commercial & marketing director UK and Ireland, Saica Pack said:
“Everyone at Saica is absolutely delighted to have won this award, which is a great recognition of our work with Nestlé over a number of years, using our own innovative approaches to help Nestlé to not only achieve their sustainability targets but also to provide them with the very best packaging solutions for their products.”
