Capital investment completes strong year for TCL Packaging
2016-12-12

From:Packaging News

TCL Packaging has placed new orders for capital equipment at its Telford production plant.

The £250,000 worth of orders feature a new high speed Diamond Duplex slitter rewinder with shaft-less unwind from Ashe Converting Equipment and a Laserpin high performance macro perforation unit from Jenton International.

Both units are due for delivery early in 2017.

Order levels of printed film from manufacturers and packers across a variety of market sectors remain strong for TCL.

Mike Golding, TCL managing director, said volumes were continuing at high levels and the firm’s long term outlook is good with no adverse effects so far from Brexit uncertainty.
“The final December deadline for the EU FIR labelling regulations has made some

difference to our order intake but what’s really noticeable is the large quantity of micro and macro-perforated printed films being ordered for fresh produce. Campaigns such as Love Food Hate Waste and Jamie Oliver’s wonky veg movement are making a real difference to consumers and the way they buy. Many more producers are aware of the importance of correctly treated packaging films for extending freshness and shelf life and this is being reflected in our order levels.”
