Renowned broadcaster Jeremy Paxman is to speak at the annual Foodservice Packaging Association Environment seminar next year

Taking place at the St John’s Hotel, Solihull, on 21 January 2016, Paxman will be speaking in his capacity as Patron of Clean Up Britain, the organisation set up to highlight litter issues.

The broadcaster has a passion for dealing with the UK’s litter problem and has urged the various litter agencies need to work together to achieve meaningful, long-lasting results.

Anne Sutton, chairman of the FPA Environment Committee, said: “We are delighted that Jeremy is taking time out of his busy schedule to talk to FPA members.  We know that he is rarely able to take on a commitment like this which makes it all the more special for the FPA.”

Other speakers include Derek Robertson, chief executive of Keep Scotland Beautiful, Trewin Restorick, chief executive of Hubbub, Helen McFarlane, MacDonalds UK Environment team, Sue Kinsey from the Marine Conservations Society and Stuart Foster, chief executive of RECOUP.

The FPA Environment seminar regularly attracts around 150 FPA members and a broad spectrum of representatives from local authorities, trade associations, major foodservice operators, environmental and recycling organisations.

The debates are held to influence the litter and recycling agendas.
