From:Plastics News

Ifco Systems Group has now donated more than 200,000 reusable plastic containers to food banks in various parts of the world, the company said.

The unit of Brambles Ltd. provides the RPCs for the collection and distribution of food to those facilities.

“We strongly believe in the food bank activities, and our products and services can be used by the food banks in an optimal way, helping them with their work. We therefore concentrate all our social activities on the food banks and globally support them in all countries where we are active,” Ifco CEO Wolfgang Orgeldinger.

Along with providing RPCs at no cost to food bank, Ifco employees also volunteer at those facilities, the company said.

Ifco operates a pool of more than 225 million RPCs in 37 countries, primarily for the transportation of fresh products to grocery retailers.
