The fifth edition of Indiapack 2013, witnessed 125 exhibitors including 11 overseas exhibitors take part in the show

After five successful editions, the packaging industry is gearing up for the Indian Institute of Packaging (IIP)'s brand show Indiapack, from 8-11 October, at the Bombay Exhibition Centre in Goregaon, Mumbai.

Like each year, in addition to the expo which will host exhibitors from across the globe, the four days will be packed with concurrent events including the World Packaging Congress and the IndiaStar and PacMachine Awards.

According to IIP, which is celebrating its golden jubilee this year, with 300 plus exhibitors showcasing their latest offering in the packaging machinery, materials and service segment, the visitor footfalls will be over 15000 of 'high purchase trade visitors'. The exhibition space is spread over 12,000 sqmts with 90% space bookings. This, accroding to the institute, will make it a 100% bigger show than the previous edition.

"Considering the need of the hour for the industry to modernise, the Institute has been playing a pivotal role by organising exhibitions, conference, seminars, and award recognition programmes. The show, in its entirety is aimed to recognise the importance of new trends and opportunities for the industry," said Shekhar Amberkar, assistant director, exhibition and admin, IIP-Mumbai.

In addition to the support from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and Ministry of Food Processing Industry, Indiapack boasts of support from allied industry associations; All India Plastic Manufacturers’Association (AIPMA), Plastindia Foundation and Export Promotion Council of Handicrafts  among others. These associations will host special pavilions at the exhibition space - Plastiworld Pavilion, Plastic Recycling Pavilion, Andhra State Pavilion, Telangana State Pavilion, etc.

"It is against this backdrop, we invite all stakeholders of the industry, leading companies as well as all the industry members to be a part of this mega show," concluded Shekhar.

PrintWeek India, in association with the Indian Institute of Packaging, will print a show daily at the Indiapack show.
