Consolidated Container signs deal to offer Baritainer technology
2015-04-14

From: Plastics News

Consolidated Container Co. LLC is becoming the principal U.S. manufacturer of rigid thin-walled high density polyethylene bottles using Baritainer technology.
Barrier Plastics Inc. and Consolidated Container are launching what the companies call a strategic manufacturing partnership focused on bringing new types of barrier bottles to the market.

Under the deal, Atlanta-based Consolidated Container will be the principal U.S. maker of bottles incorporating Quoral nylon 6 resin, marketed under the trade name Baritainer. BP Polymers LLC supplies Quoral resin.

Barrier Plastics, which is based in Irvine, Calif., had been the sole North American manufacturer of Baritainer bottles.

Baritainer bottles transport solvent-based products including household, industrial and agricultural chemicals, cleaning solvents, adhesives, wood preservatives and automotive additives.

Both companies will market Baritainer bottles.

“We can now offer more cost-effective supply chain solutions to our household chemical, industrial, and automotive customers who require barrier properties in their rigid plastic packaging,” said Nipesh Shah, senior vice president and general manager for Consolidated Container, in a news release.
