This year's Top Packaging Summit by Packbridge, held 22-23 October at the Sundspärlan in Helsingborg, was a great success. This was the fourth year of the conference, and it has expanded with each new edition. This year was no exception. Today, Top Packaging Summit by Packbridge is Europe's biggest packaging conference.

"We are extremely happy with the outcome of this year's conference, and I feel that also applies to the participants too, both speakers, exhibitors and spectators", says MD Per-Stefan Gersbro. "The whole event ran perfectly. The comments I heard over the two days all said the same thing, that this year Top Packaging Summit was better than ever. Many expert observers say that Top Packaging Summit by Packbridge is the best packaging conference in Europe, and I know that it is certainly the biggest."

The Sundspärlan in Helsingborg was an ideal venue for the conference. The main conference hall also housed the exhibition space, with a smaller conference space for those parts when the programme was divided into two parallel sessions, and this worked very well. During the breaks there was intensive networking activity and a large number of questions about the exhibitors' products and services.

The 30 speakers at this year's conference were of very high quality. With short presentations, and panel discussions after each block, the four moderators kept the tempo brisk throughout the conference's four themes: marketing, technology, innovation and food waste.


New this year was the link to OpenUp, the digital platform for open innovation, which is run by Packbridge together with the Skåne Food Innovation Network. This involved open workshops during each networking break, with the conference themes forming the basis for creative discussion and competitions for the best idea. The OpenUp forum is still in place for continued discussion after the conference. Here, speakers and participants have the opportunity for continued dialogue regarding all the questions and ideas that were generated by the conference.   


"In other words, as organisers we are extremely satisfied. The challenge now is to top this next time around, but we have a little while to achieve this as Top Packaging Summit by Packbridge won't be back until October 2016. As the most important and biggest Scandinavian packaging fair, Scanpack, is being held in October next year, it seems sensible to allow everyone to focus on that event."

Top Packaging Summit by Packbridge is an annual conference, but will be held next in 2016. Next year the packaging industry's most important and biggest packaging fair, Scanpack, is being held in October, and given the significance of the fair the conference will be taking a break.
