Out of toleration---Bpi.agri increases film prices
2008-12-01
Bpi.agri, the agricultural films division of British Polythene Industries, is going to increase the price of silage stretch film products each roll by £2.
In the past 17 months, the price rises in oil prices, energy costs, and tight supply of polymer have gone beyond the manufacturing costs. According to Commercial director John Lancaster, the input costs have continued to add since our communication with customers began earlier this year. This situation is also restricted to the overall supply of supply and demand scenario, which will evidently influence the supply of polymer across Europe.”
Being eroded by several waves of price increases, the company has finally been out of the absorption and taken action on as their earnings has been exploited to the extent where they can’t tolerate.
