Wrap, Waste & Resources Action Programme, has considered packaging processing as a new investment among its business plan.
According to Liz Goodwin, Wrap chief executive, packaging has played a more and more important role in waste and resource field and it would be one of the company’s next few involvements.
A conference held in London was to release Wrap’s engagement of mixed plastic and non-bottle packaging. They came to the conclusion that recycling and reprocessing of packaging waste could be available in the UK because its practice could be possible technically, environmentally and economically.
They also think of constructing a plant which can deal with about 40,000 tonnes each year and be run be by the end of the project.
’ Other options may not be launched if packaging reprocessing can not be put into place and functioned as well as it was expected,’ asserted David Smith, head of the resource and environment group at Scott Wilson taking the trials.
