An anti-counterfeiting gadget--- Pro-tex--- has been released by Chesapeake, the Virginia-based packaging group. It helps consumers prove whether the product is genuine or not and enables brand owners to track its products through the whole logistics line.
A specific alphanumeric character identification code will be attached to the product for following checking through a standard mobile phone text message based on Chesapeake’s database.
With online inkjet or digital printing technology, the code could be directly applied to the packaging of all products. This newly-invented device could ideally clamp down on fraudulent products, such as high-value luxury items, pharmaceutical products, alcoholic drinks and cosmetics.
A registered consumer could make sure their confirmation of the registration via a text message. The system itself is multilingual and can reply the message within users’ inbound language so that consumers could enjoy its user friendliness.
