Global demand for sleeve labels to grow by 5%
The present share of the global market for sleeve labelling – 12% – is estimated to increase at an annual compound rate of around 5% until 2015, according to a report from AWA.
The report is entitled Global sleeve label market and technology review.
Sleeve labels are a major competitor to pressure-sensitive labels in premium product applications, said the report’s authors. Heat shrink sleeves are the most popular type, with 76% of the market.
In terms of materials, PVC is globally the most popular substrate but PET-G, OPS and PLA are all becoming more widely used.
The study reports on regional market developments in Europe, North America, Asia and South America, and the rest of the world, by technology – heat shrink, stretch sleeve and RFS/ROSO/MD shrink sleeves.
